DETAILS OF DEATH

On 6 February 1947 Constable Bloomfield was performing general patrols of the Michelago area where he was the Officer in Charge. About 5pm he left Jerangle on his Police motor cycle outfit intending to visit a nearby property. A few minutes later the Constable apparently lost control of the cycle and collided with large boulders beside the roadway. As a result Constable Bloomfield was thrown to the ground sustaining severe injuries. He died the following day. The Constable was born in 1915 and joined the New South Wales Police Force on 17 April 1941. At the time of his death he was stationed at Michelago.
