At 3:00am on Saturday, 26 June 2021, Senior Constable David Masters was performing duties as a member of the Deception Bay Police Station on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary.
Senior Constable Masters deployed road spikes across the Highway in an attempt to stop the driver of a speeding stolen vehicle.
The driver has swerved and struck Senior Constable Masters, resulting in fatal injuries.
The driver of the stolen vehicle drove off from the scene.
Senior Constable Masters was provided immediate first aid treatment by his fellow police officers in attendance.
