DETAILS OF DEATH
Sergeant Richardson was en route to assist colleagues who were in pursuit of an offending vehicle in the area. When negotiating a downhill sweeping bend in the road his vehicle crossed onto the incorrect side and left the roadway. His vehicle collided with a post and wire fence before impacting a large gum tree. Sergeant Richardson sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
