DETAILS OF DEATH

Loohuys and his partner were operating as a rapid response team and were responding to a call that a gunman was threatening a patron at the Chidlow Tavern. The unmarked V8 Commodore, in which they were travelling, left the road and smashed into trees off Great Eastern Highway at Glen Forest. Loohuys, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was killed. His partner survived the crash. The accident occurred 40 minutes before Loohuys was due to end his shift at midnight. He was born April 3rd 1977 and joined the service in 1996.
