DETAILS OF DEATH
Constable Gilbert joined the Northern Territory Police on 22 September 1947 and served in Tennant Creek and Darwin. He was travelling to Wauchope from Tennant Creek on a prisoner escort to Alice Springs when the vehicle he was driving overturned just north of Wauchope killing him. He is buried in the Tennant Creek cemetery.
