DETAILS OF DEATH

On 29th May 1852 Acting Corporal O’Connor was attempting to cross the Mitta Mitta River. Acting Corporal O’Connor who was unable to swim got into difficulties and drowned. Despite an extensive search being made Acting Corporal O’Connor’s body was not located until the following morning. A Coroner’s jury returned a verdict of accidental death.
