DETAILS OF DEATH

In the early hours of the morning of 28 May 1872 Constable Curtin was travelling by wagonette on the Violet Town to Euroa road in order to obtain a warrant for the arrest of a felon. During the journey one of the wagonette’s wheels bumped into a hole and Curtin was thrown to the ground. He suffered internal injuries and died soon after.
