Constable Bryant was found hanging by the neck in the Henry Jones and Co. building by the Hobart docks. At the time of his death Constable Bryant stationed at Hobart was carrying out a routine night patrol of the city`s wharf area. An inquest into the circumstances of his death returned an open finding.
