National Police Remembrance Day ~ 29 September 2025 ~
On 29 September each year we honour the lives and service of fallen police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty or as a result of their duties. National Police Remembrance Day (NPRD) is a solemn occasion to pay tribute to the courage, commitment, and dedication of police officers who protect our community.
This year, commemorative services will be held on Monday, 29 September 2025 including the National Police Remembrance Day National Service which begins with a march from AFP Headquarters in Barton to the National Police Memorial.

Time: The Kings Avenue street march commences from Blackall Street at 4:20pm
The National Service commences at 5:00pm
Where: National Police Memorial, Wendouree Dr, Parkes ACT 2600
Live Stream: The Service will be streamed via VIMEO.
Details: Ahead of the National Service, members from policing agencies across Australia will march from the Edmund Barton Building in Barton along Kings Avenue to the National Police memorial. The march will begin at 4:20pm, with members of the public encouraged to view the march on King Avenue. Following the conclusion of the march at the National Police Memorial, the NPRD National Service will begin at 5:00pm. It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes before the service begins. Please note this event is held outdoors, so it is recommended that attendees dress for the conditions.
Parking: There will be no access to, nor parking available on, Wendouree Drive. All guests are requested to utilise paid parking areas either across Parkes Way at Russell Offices or across Kings Avenue bridge.
Road Closures: To allow for the march, Kings Avenue will be closed between AFP Headquarters and the National Police Memorial between 4:05pm and 4:45pm. You will need to consider this when planning your route to the NPM and your parking options. There is strictly no vehicle access to Kings Avenue during the march.
